What started out in 2015 as an attempt to expand the sport of breakaway roping has now become one of the most prestigious and largest breakaway events on the West Coast. Founded by Danielle Porteur and Jackie Hobbs Crawford, California's Riche$t All Girl Breakaway and Roping offers high payouts and tough competition for women ropers. Women who rope on a competitive and professional level travel from as far as Texas and Hawaii to compete. California’s Riche$t has partnered with a prestigious group of sponsors including Cactus Ropes, Cactus Saddlery, Resistol, Heel-O-Matic, and more! In 2016, we added an all girl team roping in addition to the all girl breakaway roping and we are continuing to expand.
The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) added breakaway roping to their list of official events in 2019. The rodeo community affectionately named 2019 the "Year of the Breakaway". California's Riche$t strives to keep this momentum going by creating more opportunities for women ropers to show off their skills and compete for some of the best money in the business.
