For a decade, California's Riche$t All-Girl Breakaway and Team Roping, founded by Danielle Porteur and Jackie Hobbs Crawford, has been at the forefront of women’s rodeo on the West Coast, bringing together top-tier cowgirls from across the country to compete at the highest level. What started as a vision to create opportunity and showcase talent has grown into one of the most celebrated events in women’s roping.

Over the years, California’s Riche$t has forged partnerships with industry leaders like Cactus Ropes, Cactus Saddlery, Charlie1Horse, and more, elevating the competition and experience for every participant. In 2016, we introduced All-Girl Team Roping, adding even more excitement and intensity.

In 2025, our 10th anniversary, California’s Riche$t reached another milestone with record-breaking entries, proudly hosting 304 All-Girl Team Ropers and 88 Breakaway Ropers—a testament to the growth, impact, and excitement surrounding women’s roping on the West Coast. This milestone reflects a decade of building a legacy, creating opportunity, and empowering women cowgirls nationwide.

The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) officially recognized breakaway roping in 2019—the "Year of the Breakaway"—and California’s Riche$t embraced this momentum, providing a platform for women to showcase their skills and compete for significant rewards.

In 2022, we partnered with what was then the Women’s Rodeo World Championship (WRWC), now Women’s Premier Rodeo (WPR), under PBR ownership, giving cowgirls the chance to qualify for premier rodeo finals across the country. We continue to proudly partner with WPR, along with the American Rope for the Crown and the WPRA, providing participants with elite competition and unforgettable experiences.

California’s Riche$t remains one of the few premier women’s roping events on the West Coast, setting the standard for excellence, opportunity, and leadership in women’s rodeo.
